It seems like my entire life has changed in the last two weeks. I never thought I'd have the luxury of planning a proper wedding with Genevieve- it seemed that, if anything, we'd be afforded a simple elopement and estrangement from her family. But things have turned out much better than I could have ever hoped.

I've bought an acre of land south of Greenville- it's a bit farther from the Brisbois' estate than I would have liked, about an hour's ride at an easy pace, though much shorter of course if Zephira and I are racing the paths. I know it's not much space, though the house I'm going to build won't even take up a third of it. I've gotten the help of a few people in town, and we've laid the groundwork and framing for the house already- I think it will come together nicely, and quickly. Of course, I'll want Genevieve to be involved with most of the finishing and decorating- but that can wait until after we're married, I think. So long as we have a proper place of our own to live- and one that I've made for us, not something that was handed to me- I'll be happy.
